WHO:
All ages are welcome, but we ask that younger children be under adult supervision at all times. You do
not have to be an OU student to attend.

WHAT:
Every Wednesday night while OU is in session we are welcoming people from the general public to view
the Norman skies through the University's 16-inch telescope! A typical night could include a planet or
two, binary stars, star clusters, or maybe one of the brighter nebulae.

WHERE:
The observatory is located on the East side of Asp just South of Lindsey. Look for the building with
the white dome on top. To reach the roof, climb the exterior staircase on the West side of the building.
Note: Regrettably, the observatory roof is currently wheelchair inaccessible.
We have obtained permission for visitors to park for free in the parking lot to the North of the
observatory on star party evenings.

February 8 to March 7
7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

March 14 to May 2
(no viewing March 21)
8:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Who?     Students who wish to participate

All work is to be done at home. Parents may supervise and direct, but should not do the project for the student. This project is voluntary enrichment and will not be addressed in the classroom. Each participant will receive a packet of specific instructions to follow.  This is a noncompetitive and non-graded event.

Parents/ students are responsible for delivering, and setting up the project between 7:15-8:00 AM on the date of the fair. The display must also be dismantled and taken from our library by 3:00 PM that same day.

Additional information on exactly how to proceed with the science or invention projects will be sent home with those that desire to participate. Links can be found on Mrs. Falsarella’s web page under “other areas of instruction” on Washington’s Web Site.

Parties are generally held on Fridays, at the end of the school day at Washington. Having parties on Friday afternoons work best for teachers, school administrators, and our students. 

It is a nice, fun way to end a week of hard work!
