Dear Parents:
As we approach the conclusion to an eventful year, we would like to share information regarding class assignments for the 2012-13 school year. We believe that each classroom should be as evenly balanced as possible. Therefore, we respectfully ask that parents allow the staff to determine class placement for your child. We will not take requests for specific teachers.
At the end of the year our current students will be divided into new groups based upon several criteria. We will attempt to make each classroom as evenly balanced as possible. We will try to make an even distribution of students according to their ability levels and will separate those students who may have personality conflicts or who may need to be separated due to social behavior.
If you have specific concerns regarding students that your child has had conflicts with and do not want them in the same class, those requests need to be submitted in writing, to the principal, by the end of the school year.
Your requests will thoughtfully be considered, but it is our goal to preserve equity within each classroom to create the best learning environment for all students at Washington Elementary. Please contact the school office at 366-5984 if you have such a concern and would like to schedule an appointment with a principal.
