Committee Descriptions:
Fund raising Committee:
This committee will organize and administer fund raisers that are in motion and gather ideas for any future fund raising needs. This committee shall decide on incentives, promote fundraisers, plan the distribution and assist with distribution of items. Volunteers will work with Washington School Staff and PTA officers.
Parent's Night out Committee:
This committee is responsible for providing fun activities for kids so that parents can enjoy a cheap night of babysitting. Duties include planning and organizing two or more events throughout the school year. (Preferable time: Between Thanksgiving and Christmas and then again around Valentine's Day)
Communications Committee:
This committee will include Newsletter Editor, Webmaster, Thursday Folder volunteers, Student Directory Coordinator, and others. This committee will work closely with the PTA officers, the Washington faculty and staff and be responsible for communicating all news and information to Washington students, families and friends. The committee will also maintain the outside marquee and the inside bulletin boards with up-to-date events and information.
Picture Day Volunteer Sign Up:
Parents/volunteers that may be willing to help on school picture days, re-take picture days, and class picture day.
Teacher & Staff Appreciation Committee:
This committee is responsible for expressing our appreciation and support to the Washington faculty and staff throughout the year. They will work closely with the Grade Representatives and Homeroom Partners to show how much we appreciate them! National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6-10, 2013.
Bingo Night Committee:
This committee is responsible for planning and organizing Bingo Night. Volunteers will need to set up, clean-up, and obtain donations for the game prizes. The committee will work closely with the PTA officers.
Yearbook:
This committee will be responsible for the preparation of the yearbook for publication with the yearbook company. Volunteers will work with Washington teachers and parents to obtain photos and information from school events. This committee will also be responsible for the distribution of yearbooks at the end of school and coordinate yearbook signing day.
80s Dance Committee:
This committee is responsible for planning and organizing the school dance. Volunteers will help serve food, decorate, set up, clean-up, and obtain prizes for the contests. The committee will work closely with Mr. Lennington and Mrs. Arce. The students and families really enjoy this event each year.
Family Fun Night Committee:
This committee is responsible for providing fun activities to bring families together for an evening, while remaining economical. Duties include planning and organizing 2 or more events throughout the school year. This may include: Movie Nights, Dances, Variety Shows, etc...
Spring Carnival Committee:
This committee will be responsible for planning and organizing of the Spring Carnival. Volunteers will need to help serve food, decorate, plan and set up booths, obtain prizes and clean-up. The committee will work closely with Grade Representatives and PTA officers.
Friday Treats Committee:
This committee will help by popping popcorn and handing out treats on Friday Treat dates.
Super Kids Day Committee:
This committee will organize games and activities for all kids to celebrate the end of the school year with a day of outdoor fun. This committee will work closely with Washington staff.
