Help Your Child Make Reading Gains This Summer
Summer is full of fun and sun. It is also a time to ensure that students retain the academic gains that they have made during the school year. And for schools that have already renewed their annual Achieve3000 subscription or have multi-year contracts, we have created a set of resources to help you make sure your students' skills stay sharp all summer long!
First and foremost, since one of the most important elements of a successful summer literacy program is family involvement, we encourage you to distribute this letter.
to families before school lets out. It provides caregivers with information on setting up Achieve3000 Home Edition accounts, and will also help them understand how to use our program over the summer to promote literacy and prevent summer slide.
To create a complete summer literacy plan, review the full Learning Path in the Learning Center. From your Teacher's Edition home page, select Training and Support. Then, click Visit the Learning Center. Select the Ensuring Summer Success Learning Path, where you can:
- Share information with your students about the Give Us 40 contest, where they can win prizes for completing Activities
- Print a chart to help students record their summer reading
- Watch this demonstration to help families set up and use the Home Edition
- Share your tips for encouraging family involvement in summer literacy
